Jumping ship without another one to land on?

I'm about to do the same thing for the first time in my life. I don't like it, but I think it's the right thing to do.

Here's a random sketch.

We are in the same situation then, This is my first time abandoning ship and I have no idea what will happen, I have enough cash flow to get by for two months but lets hope it doesn't get to that.

And it totally is the right thing to do.

I hung in at my last job for about four years longer than I'd wanted to, because the money was fine, and life outside of work was great. Here it's the opposite: the work I (mostly) wanted, but no life, and no money, and no reason to stay.

I stayed at this job because it pays decently and I like the people I work with but upper management has grown to dislike me and do several things to get me to leave, I ignored them at first but it has gotten to the point where I can't ignore it. I would rather leave and just screw them over, which sadly my department will be when I leave. The main boss instantly regretted it when I turned in my letter of resignation but i am way past caring now.

I am toying with being a detailer full time but there is a lot of risks involved with that.

Sounds very familiar except substitute design, client contact, and resource management.
I took my current job because I was waaaaay past my breaking point at the last one. My "boss" (owner of the company who just sort of fell into that role and couldn't do it) called me a douche and a fuckwad (direct quotes, not said in jest) because I knew how to do shit that he didn't.

I've got the same plan in mind. Job is awful and I have no life outside of it, but the pay is ridiculously good. I'll be abandoning ship in March. Hopefully get my life back after a few years...

Good luck

Here's somethin nice to look at

I hadn't realized how bad my social life was till I really took a second and thought about it... , good luck with your plan and hopefully you can have a job lined up before you leave.

Yeah I try not to think about my social life. I've missed three of my really close friends' weddings this year... among other things. Craziest thing is I managed to find someone with online dating. Moved in together and everything. Work is straining that as well.

I'm not really worried about having the job lined up, I need to think about life for a bit first. See what I really want to do.

Given the recurring rate of problems I have experienced with my cable/cable internet, I am skeptical of the existence of your claimed job, which is why I recommend you become a longevity engineer for rotary engines. :)

I don't deal with an individual devices, just general areas. I would love to be a longevity engineer, if by longevity engineer you mean drive the hell out of some rotary engines till they break.

I was talking about doing the same damn thing with some coworkers today. I found out my coworker, who is indispensable at our company, makes less than 10k over what I make now. Wouldn't mind jumping ship and going on the wild goose chase for a job that actually utilizes my degree. Best of luck to you!
